I grew up in New Jersey primarily riding freestyle BMX. In college, between competitions, I fell over 15 feet onto my head. Doctors told me I had to find a few hobbies to occupy myself while I recovered for the next year. I began going to a traditional gym doing bodybuilding and powerlifting splits. While in college, I heard about CrossFit and gave it a whirl in 2012. I loved how effective and efficient it was. I started learning more about the sport and haven’t looked back since.
Originally, I supplemented my normal gym routine with CrossFit for more muscular endurance and cardio. Over a short period CrossFit began to be the highlight of my week and was way more enjoyable and rewarding than the traditional gym. From 2012-2022 I took CrossFit classes while building my knowledge and fitness. I started to find myself enjoying key pieces of boxes that I dropped into that I didn’t see replicated locally. In 2022, the idea of Round Valley CrossFit was born. I had tried many of the local gyms without finding a solution for what I was looking for. I was trying to find a gym that had excellent coaching, high quality equipment, and a community of members that were striving to create the best versions of themselves. No other gyms were able to help me at the level I wanted with movement quality, mobility, and progressive programming. It all felt like a good workout but not the best use of my hour to better myself. Round Valley CrossFit was born July 1, 2022 and strives to create excellence through effort.
